I made myself some Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seed tea at noon yesterday, and didn't begin to come down until the bands showed up for their show at sundown. I spent the next few hours happily, wrapped in a blanket on the couch in our main space, watching people play fairly minimal folk punk and swing around on the trapeze.

All the visiting musicians and local kids were nice - they brought me beer and a space heater and even food (though I was still too queesy to eat anything). A few of the bands dedicated songs to me: "this is for Ben, who's a little bit loopy on some seeds from Hawaii."

The trip itself was good. I didn't concentrate on trying to acheive any specific mental state, and I didn't worry about writing anything down in the notebooks I'd set out before starting. I did tattoo the words "If you were a river" to the inside of my calf, but that's something I've been meaning to do for a while, and the tea just made the tattoo process less traumatic.  I am still feeling what I think of as "the effect of the effect of the drug" - though I'm sober now, I'm wondering how I'd perceive the things around me if I were high, occasionally stopping in my tracks and realizing that my mind was very different at this time on Sunday.  It feels like the first time you leave the US for a trip overseas.

Details:

130ish pounds
10 seeds
Taken in a tea made by crushing the seeds, then putting the powder in warm water with lemon juice for an hour, then drinking the tea and eating all the leftover bits in the mug
Minimal experience with psychedelics (acid three times, mushrooms twice)

I would recommend trying these seeds. They are very cheap, require almost no preperation for use, and are legal in the US.

Also, considering a weekend trip to New Orleans, leaving Friday morning.  Your thoughts?
